Our services

Adult learning disability care in Hitchin and North Hertfordshire

At Anchusa Care, we support adults with learning disabilities to live independently, learn new skills and enjoy a full life at home and in the community. Our friendly, trained carers take time to understand what matters to you, and the support we offer is built around that.

How we support adults with a learning disability

Everyone has their own strengths, goals and ways of doing things. Our carers get to know the person first, then shape the support around them, so they stay in charge of their own life.

Person-centred care. We work closely with the person and their family to understand what matters to them. Together we agree the support that fits, from help with daily routines to encouragement to try something new. Our carers give just the right amount of help, and step back when you want to do things yourself.

Building everyday skills. Our carers can help with the skills that make life easier and more independent, such as communication, meeting people, managing money and looking after the home. We go at your pace and celebrate progress with you.

Learning and education. If you would like to study, train for work or simply try a new hobby, we can help you find the right opportunity and support you to take part.

Being part of the community. We support people to get out and about, whether that is joining a local group, using local shops and services or building friendships. Our carers are happy to go along and help you feel at home.

A voice that is heard. We make sure the person’s views and choices are respected. Our carers support people to make their own decisions, build confidence and speak up for themselves.

A break for family carers. If you look after a loved one, you deserve time to rest and recharge. Our respite care gives you that break, knowing they are in kind and capable hands.
