Our Carers

We invest in our carers because we insist on delivering high quality care to all our service users. We see ourselves as one big family and really care about our staff and their wellbeing.

How It Works Regarding Carers

Our Carers are carefully selected and have demonstrated that they share our values throughout the recruitment and training process.  All staff are DBS (CRB) checked and we always take up references, fully checking their work history.  Although our care staff are often lone working with our Clients, we carry out competency observations and unannounced spot checks to ensure that the care being delivered is of the highest standard.  We always welcome your feedback and carry out regular reviews with you to ensure that you are happy with your care team.  We work hard to ensure that our Carers are recognised and rewarded for the amazing and important work that they do.  We carry out regular Supervisions with our staff and ensure that they have the opportunity to de-brief with us and feel supported.

Training and Qualifications

Our commitment to quality care starts with our outstanding in-house training, guiding carers through the completion of the Care Certificate. Every member of our team goes through the theory and practice of providing high-quality care before they start work in the community. We then hold regular refresher and specialist-subject training courses to ensure that our carers continue to work at the highest levels, demonstrating best practice. Our carers are also trained in clinical tasks such as managing PEG feeds, suction, catheters and stomas. We also fund our carers to complete NVQ’s at levels 2,3 and 5 in Health and Social Care to further develop their professional skills, enabling them to progress their careers with Anchusa Care.
